How To Reduce The Drying Time Of Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour

What are Artisan Oil Colours?

Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour has been especially developed to appear and work just like regular oil paint. The stand out, however, of Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour is its ability to thin and clean up with water.

Artisan Fast Drying Medium

Artisan Fast Drying Medium can be used to improve the flow and speed up the drying of Artisan oil colours. It also increases gloss and transparency and reduces the appearance of brush strokes making it excellent for glazing and creating fine detail. It is also resistant to yellowing.

By speeding the drying of oil colour by about 50%, Artisan Fast Drying Medium thins the colour and allows further layers to be applied more quickly. If you are painting in layers, Artisan Fast Drying Medium can replace linseed oil and be combined with water and/ or thinner to maintain the 'fat over lean' painting rule.
