Kuretake

Kuretake's history begins in 1902, where Narakichi Watatani, a sumi artist, started producing sumi ink. Sumi ink is an a type of ink made mainly from soot of burnt lamp oil or pinewood, animal glue and perfume. For nearly 60 years, the liquid sumi ink "Bokuteki" has been a long-selling product, having first appeared in 1958. Fude Pen was another popular staple for over 40 years, first introduced in 1980. Kuretake has established themselves as a market leader in the field of art and crafts, and they've offered a number of goods that represent the attention to detail and care required when working by hand.
